#migrantsarehumans – Remember ErnestoNhamuave
In 2015, Migrant Movement started as a call to action in response to nation-wide attacks, desolation, hatred, and violence against migrants in South Africa. The anti-migrant movement was born to address migrant issues.
The intention of MMSA is to connect Migrants from all over South Africa and the world who have a shared desire for the fair treatment of humans to act together in their communities.
Enraged by the death of Brother Ernesto Alferbato Nhamuave of Mozambique, Brother Nuase of Namibia, Brother Ruthando of Zimbabwe, and the many African and South African brothers and sisters that lost their lives in the Xenophobic attacks that happened from 2005 – 2019.
The impetus for the commitment was, and still is, the rampant and deliberate hate and inhumane treatment of migrants, specifically people of color in South Africa.
Forever engraved in our hearts is the love for our fellow human beings, we continue to build a movement that connects migrants, and support the initiative of the loving people of South Africa that believe hate and inhumane treatment of people is not the way to solve the immigration problem of the country.
The flames that burnt Ernesto Nhamuave still burns till today.
